Essential Security Guidelines

Simple steps for safer everyday banking.

Passwords & OTP

Never Share Your OTP, PIN or Password

Never disclose your OTP, ATM PIN, UPI PIN, internet banking password or CVV to anyone. Bank officials will never ask you to reveal these confidential credentials.

  • Keep your passwords and PINs confidential.
  • Avoid using easily guessed passwords.
  • Change compromised credentials immediately.
Digital Payments

Stay Safe While Using UPI

UPI payments are generally authorised by the payer using their UPI application. Be cautious of requests that ask you to enter your PIN to receive money.

  • You do not need to enter your UPI PIN to receive money.
  • Verify the recipient and amount before authorising a payment.
  • Never approve an unknown collect request.
ATM & Debit Cards

Use Your ATM and Debit Card Safely

Take precautions when withdrawing cash or making card payments. Protect your PIN and check the ATM for anything unusual before use.

  • Cover the keypad while entering your PIN.
  • Never accept help from strangers at an ATM.
  • Block your card immediately if it is lost or stolen.
Online Fraud

Beware of Phishing Links and Fake Websites

Fraudsters may send messages, emails or links pretending to be banks, government departments or payment service providers.

  • Use the bank's official website and verified contact details.
  • Avoid clicking suspicious links or unexpected attachments.
  • Check website addresses carefully before entering information.
Remote Access Scams

Do Not Install Unknown Applications

Scammers may ask you to install screen-sharing or remote-access applications to resolve a supposed banking problem. Such access may expose your financial information.

  • Do not install applications at the request of unknown callers.
  • Never share your screen during an unverified banking call.
  • Do not disclose banking credentials over video calls.
Personal Information

Protect Your Banking Information

Your account number, card details, identity documents and personal information should be handled carefully to reduce the risk of misuse.

  • Avoid sharing account statements publicly.
  • Secure your phone with a screen lock.
  • Never save PINs or passwords in easily accessible notes.

Monitor Your Account Transactions

Transaction alerts can help you identify suspicious activity early. Keep your registered contact details updated with the bank.

  • Review SMS and email transaction alerts promptly.
  • Check your account statement regularly.
  • Report transactions you do not recognise immediately.
